Sweden is full of great things to do. From trying authentic Swedish meatballs, visiting a castle or going to a bar made of ice, there will be no shortage of new experiences. Marstrand

There's a lot of activities you can do on Marstrand like hiking, boating, castle tours, swimming, shopping and dining. The village was founded in the 1200's so just even walking around and admiring the history is an incredible experience. You have to go see Carlsten's Fortress and check out this list for a full summary of fun things to do while your on the island. Also be sure to enjoy the seafood that this island is famous for at the fish kiosk and the Lasse Majas Krog for some seafood pizza.

Göteborg

Göteborg is Sweden's 2nd biggest city and is packed with Swedish culture and activities.  There are great restaurants, shopping and museums that should not be missed...Check out this list for a full summary of things to do. If there is time, definitely try to get to Lisberg (historic amusement park) or take a canal tour (take the toad boat and ask for the cheese grater-don't ask questions).

Make it a Vacation!

A lot of you will be traveling over seas and we hope you can use this time to also have a great vacation. There's tons to do in Sweden but if you would like to explore other countries, you can easily do so from Gothenburg. Here are a few ideas for a vacation and if you have any questions just let us know:

  • Copenhagen is just a couple hours away by train/car and is one of our favorite European cities. 
  • Go to Stockholm and see for yourself why it's called "The Venice of the North" (check out the Ice Bar, it's Dan's brothers favorite). 
  • Take the overnight "Monkey Boat" over to Finland.
  • Norway is a 3 hour train ride and the fjords should not be missed!
  • Croatia is only an hour and a half flight away, just saying....
  • Head over to Skagen, which is a famous beach in Denmark and can be easily reached by boat from Gothenburg
  • Fly over to Sweden on Iceland Air and you can stop over in Reykjavik for the hot springs!
  • Our favorite trip is going to Italy and exploring the incredible culture, food and beaches. Check out Sperlonga, Italy if you can, it's a hidden gem & worth the trip!

Ryan Air and Norwegian Air are two low cost airlines that go over all Europe and you should check these sites for great deals!
