There are many differences in wedding traditions between Sweden and the US and we are picking out our favorite from both cultures for our "Swinglish" wedding. In Sweden, weddings have a Toastmaster and a Toastmadam especially appointed to host the evening. The duo handles the organization of toasts, games (yes, there are games) and events and is one of our must-have Swedish traditions.
Sticking with Swedish traditions, anyone can give a toast at our wedding, so it's a big deal and takes up a large part of the reception (making the meal last a bit longer and way more fun). The Toastmaster & Toastmadam makes sure this goes smoothly by being notified of all speeches beforehand and introducing each toaster throughout the party.
Want to make a speech? - talk to our toastmaster and toastmadam
We would love to hear from you, and all are welcome to speak at our wedding, but you must first get in contact with our almighty and powerful Toastmaster and Toastmadam, Nicholas Walsh and Jennifer Ohlsson. We hope you would like to give a toast (Americans, don't let Dan down!) and please contact Jennifer and Nicholas to arrange your charming, fun and brief speech well in advance of the wedding weekend!
